Nerja is on the coast about 50 kilometers east of Malaga. The town was once a sleepy fishing village, although the population is now much larger, the town has managed to remain relatively unspoilt and the old quarter is still very quaint with its cobbled streets and many bars and restaurants. In the centre of Nerja you will find the Balcon De Europa (Balcony of Europe) which was once the site of the great moorish castle with its fabulous view of the mediterranean. Other places of interest are the Nerja Caves with many achaelogical treasures and other pre-historic remains. Also in Nerja the very old church of El Salvador which today is a very popular venue for catholic weddings for people from all over the world.
